The New York Academy of Medicine, 150 years old in 1997, has a long and distinguished history in pursuit of its mission to enhance the health of the public. At the end of its first hundred years, a detailed history was written by Philip Van Ingen, and published in 1949. The present volume extends the work of Van Ingen to describe the institution and its activities during the period
from 1947-1997, a time of substantial growth and expansion of the mission of the Academy. |
