| Planning is not for the faint of heart. Conflict has to be managed and resolved. This book describes and analyzes continuing education program development with a five-phase approach to planning a successful program: generating ideas; identifying and obtaining the necessary
resources; determining the potential for the program's success; completing the necessary planning, budgeting, marketing and administrative details; and conducting, evaluating, and wrapping up the program. Existing literature provides some guidance and support, but much of the sequence for the book is derived from practice. The book is a guide for those new to the field of continuing education program development and for undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in courses on program
development. Experienced program planners will find it a useful resource and review as well. It can be used in vocational and technical education, parks and recreation, cooperative extension and social work, public and private organizations, and trade and professional associations. |
