Here is an updated coverage of the extraction and refining processes used for the treatment of the major nonferrous metals. Both pyrometallurgical and hydrometallurgical methods are considered for these metals, and the similarities of treatment for the different metals as
well as their specific recovery methods are outlined. The metals are divided into two groups, reactive and nonreactive, for ease of comparison and the outlining of any similarities of treatment. A chapter on environmental considerations is included which describes how this is dealt with in specific metal treatments. The book uses both English and metric units. Various unit processes are emphasized to show the similarities of treatment for the many quite dissimilar metals. Also, the groupings
of reactive and nonreactive metals illustrate this overlap of treatment processing in each group. |
