alternative to conventional presentations of time-harmonic electromagnetics at the undergraduate level. The emphasis is on principles, phenomena, and methods appropriate to optical rather than microwave frequency spectra. This approach is motivated by the significant growth in the areas of optical communication and signal processing within the last decade.The text is carefully structured so that all material is developed from first principles.
