The years from 1789 to 1799 are examined
here in two parts. The author has included selections from non-official contemporary sources such as newspapers, letters, diaries, and treatises -- many of which have not been previously translated -- with the hope that they will give the reader a sense of the immediacy of revolutionary change. This book presents a modern interpretation of the happenings inside France and also traces the impact of the French Revolution on other nations. |
