The third decade of the American Osler Society ended in 2000. A selection of papers chosen from talks delivered at Society meetings between 1991 and 2000 is presented in the third volume of this series. As usual a wide range of clinical topics and the wider philosophical and historical basis of clinical medicine continue to generate interest. As stated in Volume I, we
hope these essays will stimulate greater interest in exploring "those timeless issues that captured Sir William Osler's energies, and that remain vital for the modern physician." |
| | | | "All physicians owe gratitude to the editors and contributors of this series for their persistence in producing three volumes aimed at introducing Osler to the wider audience that he deserves and medicine sorely needed." -- Bulletin of the History of Medicine, 2003, 77 |
